What I learnt at HR Grapevine Live

As regular readers will know 10Eighty was at the HR Grapevine Live event ‘HR Takes Centre Stage’ yesterday. This a very lively and well-attended day featured a plethora of engaging speakers and sessions exploring HR trends.

My main takeaways from the conference were that organisations need to become far more employee-centric to succeed, for example by customising performance appraisals to take into account individual roles and aspirations.

As I mentioned, the theme of the 2018 conference was ‘HR takes Centre Stage’. For this to happen, employers need to provide more connected career conversations via the dynamic combination of personal development and opportunities that meet the career aspirations of their employees.

Delegates seemed most interested in the methods available that support connected conversations which means understanding how your people tick, what their values are, their skills and their passions and how you can enhance their skills to help them achieve their personal goals.
